I'm Liana and Brad W., the breeder behind Aloha Lab Pups of SW Colorado located in Cortez, CO. Our dogs are bred for great temperaments and health and longevity in the Labrador retriever breed. We DNA and OFA test to ensure this!
Q. & A. with Liana and Brad
Why did you start breeding?
We fell in love with this breed years ago and have raised them for over 27 years. We started breeding 8 years ago to help put our son through college then subsequently our daughter. That was our first mama and then through the years have learned more and more on what we and others are looking for and now have our 3rd mama, Kaia, in the picture who has been a great addition to our household. We are constantly improving our line and just added our next sire Kona.
What makes your program special?
Our dogs are our family, not just breeders so we give them a good life. We only breed our labs a few times and then retire them. We DNA test and OFA test and only breed to sires who live up to the breed standard. All of our labs come with AKC registration paperwork, wormed, first shots and health checks with our vets. Breeding rights on a limited basis.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include black, chocolate, and yellow. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
