Meet the breeder

I'm Venessa &., the breeder behind Alpine Tails located in Fresno, CA. Our dogs are bred for health, temperament, and intelligence. Our dogs are our passion, and we can't imagine spending our lives without them. We are dedicated to achieving excellence and healthy family pets, and we love to raise puppies and prepare them for their forever homes.

Q. & A. with Venessa

  • Why did you start breeding?

My eldest female named Amy started Alpine Tails, being a magnificent example of the breed. She’s got everything from conformation with a beautiful set of ears and amazing calm sweet temperament. She is the foundation of our breeding program and she has helped us learn and grow with each litter she produced and now she helps us socialize puppies from our other of age breeding females.
  • What makes your program special?

We strive for the best temperaments. We health test eyes, hips, dna, 2 yr health warranty and lifetime breeder support. Our puppies are all raised on the Biosensor Program/Early Neurological stimulation which has proven to help raise healthy well tempered pups. We believe in breeding for health & temperament above all and not just for blue eyes like others as we believe any eye color is gorgeous
  • What are the different breed coat types in your program?

Our Border Collie puppies have rough coats. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our Border Collie puppies include slate merle, blue merle, black, blue, gold, and slate. Siberian Husky puppies include sable and white, red and white, black and white, gray and white, brown and white, black tan and white, agouti and white, white, and black. Toy Australian Shepherd puppies include black & white, red, black tri, blue merle, red merle, red tri, and blue tri. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
