Meet the breeder

I'm (Annie's Mom), the breeder behind Annie's Aussies located in Bakersfield, CA. Our love affair with Aussies came when "Old Man" Harry became our medical service dog. Loyal, smart, and irreplaceable, he kicked off a decade long friendship. Now retired, he's the lovable pseudo-grandpa to the young puppies.

Q. & A. with (Annie's Mom)

  • Why did you start breeding?

I studied equine genetics during my senior year of college. Because I was knee-deep in cattle and equine ranches, I was in near-constant contact with Australian Shepherds. When my daughter developed medical problems she was prescribed a medical support animal, our first Australian Shepherd. We have since been active in providing quality Aussies, Poodles (and Aussiedoodles) for other families.
  • What makes your program special?

We breed more for temperament and work ethic (and look for the same in our owners). We've had to cancel contracts and refund money when we didn't feel the buyers understood the commitment required. We love our puppies and want them to succeed. Because our poodle studs are used by other breeders, we are paid through "pick of the litter" which helps shorten our deposit list.
  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

Aussiedoodle puppies include toy, mini, and standard sizes. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our Australian Shepherd puppies include black, red merle, blue merle, and red. Aussiedoodle puppies include red merle, black tri-color, and red tri-color. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

They live in my home and guardian homes.
