Meet the breeder

I'm Danielle B., the breeder behind Appalachian Aussies located in Connelly Springs, NC. We do our best to breed with total care by primarily focusing on raising healthy, affectionate, and loyal companions. As a result of our efforts, we’re positive our puppies will become perfect family members and add just as much joy to your life as they have ours!

Q. & A. with Danielle

  • Why did you start breeding?

I grew up with a female dog who was never fixed. She ended up having a couple mistake litters (good job mom and dad). Even though my parents were upset and stressed over this, I was in heaven and enjoyed learning to be a part of a process my mom probably hated 🤣. Later in life my husband and I decided to get into breeding. We absolutely LOVE Australian shepherds because they’re just an amazing breed so we decided we wanted to be a part of raising puppies to become such an important member of peoples families!
  • What makes your program special?

I have 4 kids ranging from 16 to 2 years old. We also live on 9 acres. Were able to provide the puppies with many different sounds, sights and smells to make sure they grow up well rounded!
  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

Our puppies are miniature size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include red & white, black & white, blue merle, black tri, red merle, and red. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

My experience with Danielle at Appalachian Aussies was fantastic. They were extremely communicative as well as understanding. My girlfriend and I live in Virginia and were visiting family in North Carolina when we reached out to Danielle and told her that we would only be down for one weekend she made it work where we were able to meet them and the puppy. Danielle and her family are amazing people and we would recommend Appalachian Aussies any day.

It was great! She sent me pictures up until I got my sweet boy. This boy was definitely cared for before me and he came freshly bathed with a bag full of goodies, microchip, and paperwork. I did a lot of research on ethical breeding before I got him and when I saw Danielle’s page I knew I was going to be in good hands.
