I'm Alexandra B., the breeder behind Appalachian Ghost Dogs located in Waynesville, NC. We decided we wanted to share the joy of this breed with other people, but we also wanted to be a difference in the Australian Shepherd community; a hobby breeding program focused on quality over quantity. Our dogs are raised in our home and will stay with us for the entirety of their lives. We carefully selected our male and female for each other; to provide you with a puppy that has all the best qualities of the Australian Shepherd. Our puppies come with a health guarantee and a life-time of breeder support. When you choose an Appalachian Ghost Dog, you're not just getting a puppy from a breeder, you're joining a family and a community that will always provide the utmost support to you and your Australian Shepherd.
Q. & A. with Alexandra
Why did you start breeding?
We wanted to change the way breeding dogs are treated, by being an example of an ethical breeding program.
What makes your program special?
Our dogs live in our home, and will for their whole lives. We raise our puppies with puppy culture and carefully select our new puppy families with an application they must first fill out when interested in our pups. We try to match each family with a puppy that has a personality that best fits their needs in a canine.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
