I'm April B., the breeder behind April's Miniature American Shepherds located in Shelton, WA. All of our dogs are loved as family members. We cherish our puppies from birth up until they leave our arms to snuggle into yours! Our love for our dogs pushed us to begin breeding. We love to see the results of our efforts in the sweet, happy, and healthy puppies that we’re able to share with others.

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our puppies include red tri-color, black tri, red merle, and blue merle. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from April

April has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.

After buyers complete the application and screening process, April partners with them to find the best puppy match.

Price

Puppy prices include a $500 non-refundable deposit and $3,000 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“All puppies are the same price regardless of color, gender, or eye color. This price includes AKC limited registration, current vaccinations, puppy socialization, puppy go-home basket, eye testing, microchip. Deposits are non-refundable. Full amount is due at time puppy is picked up.”

  • Hip Dysplasia

    Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.

  • Elbow Dysplasia (rDVM, not registered)

    Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.

  • Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)

    Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.

  • DNA Disease Panel, Multiple Drug Sensitivity (MDR1), PRA, Rod-Cone Degeneration (PRA-prcd), Hereditary (Juvenile) Cataracts (HC; JC)
