Meet the breeder

I'm Remy H., the breeder behind Arabella Collies located in Eastsound, WA. I breed smooth and rough Collies. My approach to breeding is that every litter is thoughtfully and responsibly bred. I've spent countless hours studying our breed standard, health concerns, and pedigrees. My passion has always been in animals and I have exclusively worked in the pet care industry.

Q. & A. with Remy

  • Why did you start breeding?

I embarked on my journey only in search of a service dog. Instead, I found much more. My dog came with a request from her breeder to be shown. I got hooked on that pretty quickly, and my dog quickly finished her AKC Championship. Her breeder and I co-bred her first litter, and I kept a puppy. With my two Collies, I have shown conformation, achieved trick dog titles, and trained in other sports.
  • What makes your program special?

I truly believe in breeding a well-rounded dog. While I might want dogs that are successful in the show ring, I also know that most puppies will go to families who want healthy pets or even service dogs or sport prospects. I don't just want to produce a pretty dog, but one whose body and mind holds up to every adventure. I want my dogs to be a prime example that a well-bred collie can do it all.
  • What are the different breed coat types in your program?

Our puppies include rough and smooth coat varieties. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
