I'm Naomi T., the breeder behind Arbor hill Australian Shepherds located in Colfax, WA. Welcome to Arbor Hill Aussies. We're a small hobby breeder in Eastern WA. All of our dogs are health tested (DNA panel and OFA) and raised in home. We don't breed often (less than 1 litter a year) as we value quality over quantity. We enjoy competing in conformation and other performance events.

Why did you start breeding?
As a teenager with poms. However, I've learned so much since then and have improved how I do things- like health testing. It's not enough to just have a pretty dog that meets the breed standard if it has genetic disorders or diseases it will pass on to it's offspring or if it's not sound enough to perform the job it was bred for.What makes your program special?
Honestly? My goal is to only breed when I want something to show myself. And only produce puppies that are great tempered as pets, working dogs, and pretty to look at while being healthy. I don't know if that makes me "special" as that should be the minimum period. I love all of my dogs and every puppy born here. They're raised with my family as part of our family.What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include red merle, blue merle, red, black tri-color, and red tri-color. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

“The price includes microchip, 1st immunization (minimum), deworming, puppy kit, copy of parent's health tests, contract, dual registration (AKC/ASCA), and pedigree. Deposit is typically NON-REFUNDABLE. However, certain situations they may be refunded.”

Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Vet Wellness Exam
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
DNA Disease Panel, Multiple Drug Sensitivity (MDR1)
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
