I'm Emily L., the breeder behind Arbor Hill Dachsunds located in Virginia. We adore our dogs! They’ve enriched our lives in ways we never imagined, and we are so happy to be able to share the wonderful qualities of the breed with others. Owning a Dachshund is a beautiful experience, and it would be our honor to connect you with the perfect new addition to your family.
Q. & A. with Emily
Why did you start breeding?
We carefully considered (for many years) beginning a breeding program. We were so pleased with the quality of our second dachsund that we wanted to preserve and pass on her lineage. As we eased into the arena of breeding, we became more and more enamored with the process and the puppies that were produced.
What makes your program special?
We produce a few litters of puppies per year. Our puppies are spoiled, and so very well taken care of the in short time that they are here with us. They have the blessing of plenty of space to explore, hands to hold them, and animal friends to become aquatinted.
What are the different breed sizes in your program?
Our puppies are miniature size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
What are the different breed coat types in your program?
Our puppies have wirehaired coats. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

Emily was so helpful and communicative, making sure that I was matched up with the right puppy and giving lots of info based on her experience with dachshunds. She and her family were super welcoming when we came to pick up Albie!
