I'm Deanna V., the breeder behind Arizona Sunrise Shih Tzus located in Goodyear, AZ. Breeding adults have received Good Dogs EXCELLENT health testing seal! Puppies are raised alongside my family on an advanced puppy head-start curriculum and come with a 2 year health guarantee. I offer lifetime breeder support. Puppies are introduced to a recall, verbal marker, & temperament tested.

  • Why did you start breeding?

    My passion for breeding began when I realized how much I loved the Shih Tzu breed. I started reading as many books as I could get my hands on to learn all I could about the breed and the whelping process. I took classes through AKC and several other programs in order to become a responsible breeder. It is important to me that I do everything I can for the health of my dogs and their puppies.

  • What makes your program special?

    Pups are raised on an advanced curriculum which includes Early Neurological Stimulation, Early Scent Introduction, Sound & Sensory Desensitization, movement desensitization. Pups receive an intro to a recall, verbal marker, crate exposure, etc. Puppies are temperament tested. Puppies go home with a prepaid lifetime membership to Baxter & Bella's training program & 1 month of Trupanion Insurance.

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our puppies include black, liver, gold, gold and white, and black and white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Deanna

Deanna has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready to reach out, feel free to ask any questions about the breed, their program, or specific puppies.

Together, you’ll choose the puppy that’s right for you, stay in touch with regular updates, and plan how to bring your new puppy home.

Puppy prices include a $500 non-refundable deposit and between $3,750 - $4,750 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“Puppies are priced after temperament testing at 9 weeks. Puppies remain listed as “available” until paid in full. Visit - Arizona Sunrise Shih Tzus and Poos for more details. Deposit is non-refundable in most circumstances. Breeder will return the deposit if puppy passes away under breeder care or puppy isn’t eligible for sale. If Buyer pays the Deposit, then later decides s/he does not want the puppy for any reason, Breeder is not required to refund the Deposit. If, however, Breeder is able to sell the puppy to another buyer within a reasonable amount of time after Buyer notifies Breeder of his/her decision, Breeder may (in sole discretion) refund the Deposit to Buyer.   2. Breeder cannot control litter sizes and that the wait time for puppies can be longer than expected.   3. Buyer’s Right to Transfer: If a puppy that meets Buyer’s identified preferences is not available when it becomes Buyer’s turn to pick a puppy from the selected litter, Buyer may elect to have the Deposit transferred to the next litter. The buyer may transfer the deposit a maximum of three times.   The total purchase price for the puppy ranges from $4,250 to $4,950. Breeder’s pick may come at a slightly elevated price if breeder forfeit’s her spot. The foregoing purchase price does not include any delivery charges.  .”

    Working with Arizona Sunrise Shih Tzus to add a puppy to our family was absolutely wonderful.     Deanna does a wonderful job raising the best puppies. Our puppy Lola is now 13 weeks old and she is so good with noises such as motorcycles, loud beeps, vacuum, leaf blower, etc. We took her to Home Depot this morning in her stroller and the workers had equipment in an aisle that was making extremely loud beeps that did not startle Lola. She actually rode in her stroller for about 20 minutes and took in all the sights and sounds. She never made a peep. The sound desensitizing that Deanna has in her curriculum clearly does work. Deanna also has a great wealth of knowledge about the Shih Tzu breed. When you bring your new puppy home, she gives you a puppy booklet that she has created. It details what the puppies have been eating and links to where the food/treats can be purchased, what their daily schedule has been, suggestions on when to spay/neuter, common medical questions the owner may have, etc. We are so happy with our little gem of a dog Lola. Not only is she the cutest but she is the most calm and well adjusted puppy we have had over the last 20 years of being Shih Tzu owners.
