I'm Maria L., the breeder behind Arya’s Border Collies located in Plantation, FL. Our dogs are bred for health, temperament, and intelligence. We strive to produce the best overall pets and family members. In order to start our puppies off on the right paw, we begin training and socializing at a young age so they are set up for success in their new homes. We prioritize the health and well-being of each one of our puppies and follow all appropriate puppy health protocols.
Q. & A. with Maria
Why did you start breeding?
My first dog was from a pet store, a Golden Retriever named Goldie who died at 3 years old from what vets declared a genetic disorder. Distraught, I took to researching how this could happen and learned about genetics and good dog breeders. My next dog was from a breeder who I thoroughly researched, talked to, and at 9 years old made my family travel to visit. I was awed by her program and since then wanted to be a breeder.
What makes your program special?
Arya comes from a herding line from Wales out of Ken Evans. Her herding background and international pedigree made an incredibly complimentary match with Psychic, who comes from an American sporting line. Arya's first litter is comprised well structured, biddable dogs with a lot of drive. She had two of each color which was increible, red merle, blue merle, b&w and red & white. From this litter we have 1 male and 3 females who are possible candidates for future litters.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include blue merle, red merle, blue, lilac, white ticked, and slate. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
