  • Why did you start breeding?

    A genuine adoration & passion for this breed as well as recognizing a need for more preservation breeders.

  • What makes your program special?

    Our dogs compete actively and successfully in the conformation ring and have obtained many agility titles, obedience titles, herding titles, canine good citizen titles, and several of our dogs have excelled in therapy work but most of all they excel as family companions.

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Miniature American Shepherd puppies include black, red merle, blue merle, and red. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home and a kennel on my property.

Getting a puppy from Ashley

Ashley partners with buyers to find the best match as the puppies develop and their personalities take shape. Typically, matches are finalized when the puppies reach about 8 weeks old.

Puppy prices include a $500 non-refundable deposit and between $2,000 - $2,500 final payment, before taxes & fees.

    Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.

    Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.

    We were looking for a reputable breeder who did genetic testing on the parents, took pride in their breed, and knew their breed inside and out. This is how we came upon Ashley from Ashland Miniature American Shepherds & Miniature Australian Shepherds. We had never owned a Miniature American Shepherd before and Ashley answered our millions of questions patiently and promptly both before we acquired Remi (formerly Raya) and after she came to our house. The entire experience went very smoothly and positively. Ashley was always available to answer our questions, very knowledgeable about the breed. Remi turned out to be everything Ashley said she was (fun, but could also relax and be a lap dog). I was a little nervous about flying her by pet safe cargo (since Ashley lives in Arkansas and we live in Michigan), but Ashley made all the arrangements and everything went smoothly. Ashley made us feel that we could call her anytime with concerns or questions about Remi. I could not be happier with our little girl.
