I'm Cidney A., the breeder behind Aspenleiter’s Ranch Hands located in Indianola, NE. Having dogs in our lives is such a blessing. We find so much fulfillment in providing that same companionship to other homes! We give our dogs the best lives possible. We are looking for families and individuals that will provide our puppies with the same level of love and care. Whether you are a show home or a companion home are dogs would work for you!
Q. & A. with Cidney
Why did you start breeding?
I started out by working with a well known Australian Shepherd breeder. I would take pictures of her dogs and puppies for her, and from there we developed a great friendship. She actually gave me my boy Doc. It’s been nothing but uphill from there. I owe her everything!
What makes your program special?
My dogs are apart of our everyday lives! We live on 600 acres. Our dogs love swimming in the creeks and going on horse rides with us! Our dogs are very rarely locked away in an outside kennel! We strive to raise healthy well bred puppies! We genetic test all of our parents and show a lot of our dogs. They make great companions or show prospects!
What are the different breed sizes in your program?
Poodle puppies include miniature and moyen sizes. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our English Springer Spaniel puppies include black white and tan, black and white, liver and white, and liver white and tan. Black and Tan Coonhound puppies are black and tan. Poodle puppies include black and parti. Australian Shepherd puppies include black, red merle, blue merle, and red. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home and a kennel on my property.

Breeder-Reported Testing
Great level
Aspenleiter’s Ranch Hands reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for Australian Shepherds.
Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Multiple Drug Sensitivity (MDR1)
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
Health testing is one key piece of responsible breeding and is performed on breeding dogs to prevent the presence of heritable conditions in their puppies.
