Meet the breeder

I'm Aya E., the breeder behind Astreas Newfoundlands located in Shingletown, CA. I am a life long enthusiast. My dogs are healthy and vibrant, beautiful and sweet. All dogs are CHIC. They are house dogs and enjoy running and playing on my 5 acres property. We are active in conformation and love to hike and swim. Welcome to us! Excited to share my passion for Newfies with you!

Q. & A. with Aya

  • Why did you start breeding?

I am a futures trader by profession and recently decided to retire and spend all my time on my passion: my dogs. I moved out of the Bay Area to 5 acres in Northern California and never looked back. We enjoy the local lakes and streams, the hiking trails and the space on the property.
  • What makes your program special?

I think the combination of gorgeous, typey dogs, that are also healthy ( OFA certified on joints, patella’s, heart and cystinuria) with amazing temperaments, is what makes my breeding program shine. Also a relationship with their breeder gives me access to statistics of what to expect from their kids. Therefore I am able to offer long term health warranty on the puppies of 4 years.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include black and brown. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
