Meet the breeder

I'm Kim H., the breeder behind Astrids Mini/Toy Aussies located in Montrose, CA. I am a responsible breeder. Astrid is my only dog. She is a beautiful Mini Australian Shepard with the sweetest personality. Astrid is health and DNA tested with all clear panels. Camron the stud used for this litter is also health and DNA tested with a clear panel. Both dogs are registered with ASDR/AKC. All Puppies are health checked and healthy. We are located in Los Angeles. Local pick up is idea so I can meet the new parents of the pups. The reason why I decided to mate Astrid is that she has a wonderful personality. She is highly driven to please, very smart, she has medium energy level which was a huge plus as we live in the city. She's lived in apartments and now a house. We only walk her around the block but now she has a back yard and she content with that. She loves to play fetch and play with other dogs. She's a perfect candidate to breed. Also, she only sheds twice a year. Her coat is very manageable. The stud is a Toy standing at 13inch. He also has a very mild personality and is very friendly. He very obedient and calm. I'm looking for very loving people for Astrids pups.

Q. & A. with Kim

  • Why did you start breeding?

I absolutely love Astrid my MAS and she's been an amazing dog. I have had her since my son was two years old and she has been the best dog for my whole family. She is the sweetest dog and the most motivated to please. She's so in tune with my family that she picks up on our emotions and so easy to train. She literally trains herself after a few repetitions of a situation. I wanted to share that.
  • What makes your program special?

Both parents are very healthy and have great genetic clearance. The stud Cameron is very sweet as well and obedient. He's a toy and small in size. Astrid is a city dog and accustomed to living in the city. Her pups will be very social, exposed to lots of people and children, exposed to lots of sounds, and will have lots of indoor experiences.
  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

Our puppies are miniature size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies are blue merle. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Kim did an excellent job sending information about Starla, and what to expect from her; behavior, size, etc. Kim also gave us all of the information about shots, and what food would be good for her. We especially enjoyed the videos during puppy play with her mom, Astrid. Thanks.

I wanna start off by saying Kim was the nicest and sweetest person we’ve met. She opened up her home and we were able to come and visit Odin along the way. We are so happy with Odin! He has so much energy and is a blessing for our home. Kim and Astrid thank you for our little bundle of joy!

We got Bella yesterday, 3/9/24. We have had several Australian Shepherd puppies, standard and mini. Bella is happy, sweet, playful, cozy, and full of personality, but mellow. She is very well adjusted. This is a great breeder who has obviously nurtured and loved their puppies. The owner let us FaceTime, ask questions whenever, and sent her home with lots of treats, including a blanket with the mommy’s smell. We are very impressed! I highly recommend get the last puppies.
