I'm Jennifer A., the breeder behind Astyanax Poodles located in Wytheville, VA. Our dogs excel both in and out of the show ring. They are excellent representations of the breed and have wonderful temperaments. We take responsible breeding very seriously, and we’re thorough in health testing and caring for our dogs. We make sure each puppy gets the proper group and individual attention that it needs to thrive, and we do all that we can to prepare them for their future roles and families.

Our puppies include toy, miniature, and standard sizes. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.

Our puppies include black, blue, cream, silver, and white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

Puppy prices include a $500 non-refundable deposit and between $2,000 - $2,500 final payment, before taxes & fees.

Bessie is amazing! She is black, in size, square, with a lovely coat, balanced, and a lovely oval eye and beautiful expression. Bessie loves the show ring and always has a commanding presence about her.

Jett is an eager fun girl. She is 15” tall and is inky black. She has medium prey drive but has a good off switch. Jett is biddable, has a great coat, pretty head, and is a pleasure to live with.

Patellar Luxation
Knee testing reduces the chance of passing down Patellar Luxation, which results in the kneecap becoming displaced or dislocated and can cause mild to severe joint pain.
PRA, Rod-Cone Degeneration (PRA-prcd)
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
