Meet the breeder

I'm Meaghan A., the breeder behind Audet’s Mini Dachshunds located in East Dover, VT. We are proud to offer our beautiful Miniature Dachshund puppies to loving homes! Our dogs are Vet checked and have great temperaments. We work hard to breed the best dogs possible using good bloodlines and health-tested dogs. We follow all appropriate steps to raising well-socialized puppies.

Q. & A. with Meaghan

  • Why did you start breeding?

I grew up on a farm and we bred chocolate labs. I always wanted a mini dachshund and I finally got one for a bday present one year. Since then, I fell in love with the breed and decided I would breed them when I got older since I already had experience in dog breeding. That was so long ago now! I breed my sheep to their breed standard just like I breed my dogs to their breed standard.
  • What makes your program special?

Since I grew up breeding labs and farm animals, mini dachshund breeding seemed like a piece of cake. However, each breed or species has their own breed standard and needs. Mini dachshunds are a bit more complex than other breeds but so far I believe I am doing a great job improving this amazing breed! I am working on extending my breeding program in some guardian homes and having a nice dog barn!
  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

Our puppies include miniature and standard sizes. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat types in your program?

Our puppies include longhaired, smooth, and wirehaired coat varieties. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include piebald, sable, cream, red, wild boar, chocolate, brindle, wild boar and tan, chocolate and cream, chocolate and tan, black and tan, black and cream, and dapple. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

They live in my home and guardian homes.
