Meet the breeder

I'm Leann A., the breeder behind Aussome Pups at Alexander Farm located in Lakeville, IN. Health and temperament are the most important things for us. A dog needs to be a great pet before it can be anything else! We also strive to meet the Aussie Standard. We love a low-medium drive, loving personality for an excellent pet or support dog and intelligence to have potential service abilities. While we have a farm, our current dogs have low herding drive.

Q. & A. with Leann

  • Why did you start breeding?

Seeing service/support dogs that were lacking key qualities made me decide to breed dogs in order to truly help people. I knew with my experience I could select dogs more qualified than many that I was seeing. I have been involved with breeding and showing various animals most all of my life. Chasing lines, evaluating health, temperament, and conformation is an art and nothing to be taken lightly. While we are focusing on Aussies now they still have potential service possibilities and hands down can make excellent Emotional Support dogs!
  • What makes your program special?

We are a small, in-home breeder. Our goal is to produce healthy, loving dogs for those in need, and we strive to prepare all of our dogs to excel in their forever homes as service dogs, emotional support animals, therapy dogs, and of course as loving companions too. It is incredible how smart these dogs are! With that comes the responsibility of teaching them right from wrong. Our puppies generally leave with knowledge of basic commands and a strong start in housebreaking! They love to learn and love their families! <3
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include red merle, blue merle, black tri-color, and red tri-color. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Leanne and her husband were super friendly and super informative. They were kind enough to allow us in their home to meet Nibs Parents. I took the dog to the vet shortly after visiting her and the dog was in perfect health. She provided information on how to activate Nibs microchips, every vet visit for shots, and a sheet on the breed as well. I wish I could buy 10 dogs from her 😄.

Leann is a fantastic breeder! She already started training Daisy so we had a solid foundation to go from. Daisy was also very well socialized with both humans and other animals, which made it easy for the dog to transition into our social and family life. Leann responded right away to any questions we had and was straightforward with information about Daisy. We couldn’t be happier with our experience with Leann and also the little gift that Daisy has been to our family.

Leann and her family welcomed us into her home to see all the puppies. She walked us through all the paperwork and drove closer to us for our pick up. I will absolutely recommend her to all our family and friends looking to bring a new addition to their home. Thank you again Leann!

Leann was a pleasure to work with. She is very knowledgeable about her Aussies and we can tell she really cares about these wonderful animals. Smokey is a wonderful pup. He is very sweet and a quick learner. He is quickly becoming a wonderful addition to our “pack.”
