Meet the breeder

I'm Irene M., the breeder behind Avignon located in Lancaster, CA. Our Dachshunds are excellent representations of their breed, and we are proud to offer our high-quality puppies to loving homes. Our goal is to produce healthy dogs with amazing temperaments while leaving a legacy of greatness in the breed. Most of our dogs are champions and all are health tested.

Q. & A. with Irene

  • Why did you start breeding?

After finishing my first AKC champion, my mentor encouraged me to breed and establish my own line and keep showing. I only breed when I’m looking for my next show dog.
  • What makes your program special?

I’m very picky on health. All my dogs are extensively health tested prior to being breed as recommended by the parent club. I also DNA test thru Embark.
  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

Our Dachshund puppies are miniature size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat types in your program?

Our Dachshund puppies include smooth and longhaired coat varieties. German Shepherd puppies have stock coats. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our Dachshund puppies include cream, red, black and tan, and dapple. German Shepherd puppies are black and tan. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

They live in my home and guardian homes.
