I'm Colleen D., the breeder behind Azurite Australian Shepherds located in Smithland, KY. I'm a breeder of quality Australian Shepherds. I offer healthy, happy, beautiful puppies to vetted, responsible, quality homes. My focus is to produce the best dogs of the highest quality so that other families can also enjoy the love of an Aussie! These dogs have proven to be wonderful companions in my life. It is a privilege to be able to share that love and friendship with others through responsible breeding.

  • Why did you start breeding?

    The reason I got into breeding is that after years of studying and learning about the Australian Shepherd breed I had the ideal dog in my head. I strieve with each breeding to try to achieve that ideal dog. My Ideal Aussie is one striking beauty ,sound body,awesome temperment ,fun lovingand loyal to family and friends.
  • What makes your program special?

    I am a small breeding program , I only breed one mybe two litters per year. Each pair is pick for the qualities that compliment each other. All my breeding pair live im my home and are socialized th o provide an all around balanced dog.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Puppy prices include a $250 non-refundable deposit and between $950 - $1,250 final payment, before taxes & fees.

  • Eye Examination (rDVM, not registered with OFA)

    Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.

  • DNA Disease Panel, Multiple Drug Sensitivity (MDR1), PRA, Rod-Cone Degeneration (PRA-prcd), Hereditary (Juvenile) Cataracts (HC; JC)

    Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
