Q. & A. with Sarah

  • Why did you start breeding?

We started breeding August 2019. My daughter and I used to Show and breed rabbits. I met many new friends going to shows. I met many professionals in the animal health industry. One friend had a miniature dachshund and the rest was history. Along with the professional help and knowledge of the many friends I met along the way, we started our breeding journey when I purchased my first female in 2019.
  • What makes your program special?

My daughter are actively involved in the breeding and rearing process of raising dachshunds. I also have three German Shepherds aside from my miniature dachshunds. All of my dog live in home with me as part of the family. When puppies arrive, they are slowly integrated as part of our family till they day they leave to their new homes. They are exposed to other animals including larger dogs, cats, chickens, and small children.
  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

Our puppies are miniature size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat types in your program?

Our puppies have longhaired coats. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include piebald, cream, red, chocolate, brindle, chocolate and tan, chocolate and cream, black and tan, black and cream, and dapple. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Sarah was incredibly responsive and attentive to our needs throughout the entire process of finding a new puppy. We sent her countless requests for videos, pictures, and information, and she always responded promptly, keeping us updated every step of the way-no matter how many questions we had. When we visited her, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. We had the opportunity to meet the puppy's parents, and Sarah provided us with comprehensive details about the dog, including health concerns, care instructions, and even advice on what to do if the dog ever got lost. She explained that the puppy would be microchipped with both our information and hers for added safety. It's clear that Sarah genuinely cares about her dogs and takes great pride in her breeding program. Her dachshunds are absolutely beautiful, and I can't recommend her enough!

Sarah was so responsive and helpful!!! She clearly knows a lot about the breed and LOVES her fur babies!!! She was amazing to work with and help us prepare for our first fur baby. She made sure we would be able to actively care for him and have the time to devote to being a puppy/pet parent. Once we decided to purchase, she regularly gave me picture updates and kept me in the loop about his health, vet visit, and up to date vaccines. She gave us so many tips on what to do “just in case” of different scenarios and know what to expect both as a puppy and as he grows. My husband and I are so glad we found Sarah and love our new baby, Appa!! Highly recommend Sarah!!
