Meet the breeder

I'm Michelle C., the breeder behind Barnyard Mini Aussies located in Aurora, MO. I fell in love with the breed over 10 years ago, thus recently starting my breeding program endeavor. I plan to do agility training with my dogs while providing wonderful companions. I am always looking to better my genetics to continue to improve upon my line for generations to come.

Q. & A. with Michelle

  • Why did you start breeding?

I knew I loved the Aussie breed, but the miniature aussie was introduced to me back in 2013, when I got our first 2 littermates. I liked the playfulness, and the quick herding ability that came in that small package. After a few years, I knew what I wanted in the breed and what I want to do to continue it on. We got our first breeding girl, Lace, in 2021.
  • What makes your program special?

I genetically test my Aussie breeding males and females through PawPrints AND Embark to ensure quality. I am careful in what I choose as a continuing genetic line for this breed. All of our dogs are registered. My herd lives inside and outside. They are well-acclimated to both lifestyles. I am very proud of my group and I look forward to meeting more people that enjoy this breed as much as I do.
  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

Our puppies include tiny and miniature sizes. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include blue merle, black tri, red tri, and red merle. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

They live in my home and a kennel on my property.
