Meet the breeder

I'm Ronald Darren F., the breeder behind Barren River Bernedoodles and Poodles located in Scottsville, KY. We are a dedicated poodle breeder located on our serene 15-acre farm, where we raise each of our puppies in the comfort of our home. With a focus on health, temperament, conformation, and intelligence, we carefully breed only one to two litters each year. Our puppies are born and nurtured in a family environment, ensuring they are well-socialized, confident, and they are started on potty training from a young age. Our commitment is to provide healthy, happy and incredibly well-adjusted poodles to loving families.

Q. & A. with Ronald Darren

  • Why did you start breeding?

I am a stay-at-home mom and my passion is dogs and I also grew up on a farm. I have a passion for genetics and wanted to raise healthy pets for other families to love for a very long time.
  • What makes your program special?

We do embark testing for all genetic disease. We have also started doing OFA testing on our breeders. We also do ENS (Early Neurological Stimulation) with each of our puppies we raise. We socialize all our puppies with many different sounds and items. We start early grooming and potty training. Our pets are raised in our home only so they get daily interactions and socialization. We take great pride in our program.
  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

Our Bernedoodle puppies include mini, medium, and standard sizes. Poodle puppies are moyen size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our Bernedoodle puppies include tri-color, phantom, and merle. Poodle puppies include sable, apricot, black, blue, silver, white, parti, and phantom. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
