Meet the breeder

I'm Kali C., the breeder behind Bayou Black Russians located in Benton, LA. Our health‑tested, family‑raised Black Russian Terriers are bred for correct structure, stable temperaments, and true versatility. Every puppy is raised with care and purpose, becoming a confident, well‑socialized dog who can excel in the show ring, in working roles, and as a devoted companion.

Q. & A. with Kali

  • Why did you start breeding?

I fell in love with Black Russian Terriers at age 10 and began grooming, handling, and learning under dedicated breed mentors at 14. After owning the breed since 2016, my passion naturally grew into breeding—driven by a desire to preserve their structure, temperament, and true versatility. I welcomed home my foundation female in 2022.
  • What makes your program special?

My program is built on health‑tested, family‑raised Black Russian Terriers with correct structure, stable temperaments, and true versatility. Each puppy is raised in a loving home with careful socialization, puppy culture, and ENS, producing confident dogs who excel as show prospects, working partners, and devoted companions. My goal is to produce healthy, stable dogs you can live with happily.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies are black. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
