Meet the breeder
I'm Derek T., the breeder behind Bayview Pups located in Stafford, VA. Healthy puppies start with healthy parents! That is why I genetically test all of my dogs prior to breeding them. All dogs and puppies are vet examined, microchipped, vaccinated, and dewormed. Records are kept in a binder for the new owners to provide to their vet ensuring a smooth transfer.

Why did you start breeding?
I started breeding 15 years ago and it is a very rewarding experience watching the adults grow and nurture their pups.What makes your program special?
Healthy puppies start with healthy parents! That is why I genetically test all of my adult dogs prior to breeding them. All dogs and puppies are vet examined, microchipped, vaccinated, and dewormed. All records are kept in a binder for the new owners to provide to their vets to ensure a smooth transfer.What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our Shih Tzu puppies include chocolate, red, and black and white. Maltese puppies are white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

Derek has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready to reach out, feel free to ask any questions about the breed, their program, or specific puppies.
Together, you’ll choose the puppy that’s right for you, stay in touch with regular updates, and plan how to bring your new puppy home.
Price
Puppy prices include a $300 non-refundable deposit and between $1,400 - $4,700 final payment, before taxes & fees.

This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase. Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).

We had a wonderful experience getting Bandit from Derek. He was so responsive to our messages. We had worries as this is our first puppy and he happily answered questions. He met us about an hour away from his location and was right on time and communicated his ETA. Bandit was well-cared for and was already pottying on the pad, he even went on a pad on the floorboard of the rental car when we pulled over. Derek provided us with the things we needed to get started with Bandit and gave us a clear and up to date medical history. We had our first vet appt yesterday and Bandit is doing great….no issues! I highly recommend working with Derek…it is clear he really cares about his pups and wants them all to be happy.
