I'm Kristine G., the breeder behind Bear Mountain located in Squaw Valley, CA. We raise top-quality Newfoundland Dogs and American Eskimo Dogs for service, show and companions. We only breed health-tested dogs with fantastic temperaments. We are dedicated to providing of our clients with healthy well mannered puppies that will be cherished for a long lifetime.

  • Why did you start breeding?

    We have a fantastic service dog that we needed to train well to do her job. In the process, we learned so much, won many titles, and decided to give breeding a go. Providing high-quality, service-centered dogs to people is our passion. People NEED quality, long-living, healthy, smart, obedient, rock-solid dogs that are raised correctly from the start.
  • What makes your program special?

    Our goal is to produce very correct, healthy, loving dogs for our clients. We strive to prepare all our pups to excel in the show ring and in their forever homes as service dogs and loving companions. We are passionate about raising quality dogs for service and the show ring. Our love for our dogs and puppies shines through in every aspect of our breeding program.
  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

    Our American Eskimo Dog puppies include toy, mini, and standard sizes. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our American Eskimo Dog puppies are white. Newfoundland puppies include white and black, black, and brown. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home and a kennel on my property.

Getting a puppy from Kristine

Kristine has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready to reach out, feel free to ask any questions about the breed, their program, or specific puppies.

Puppy prices include a $500 refundable deposit and between $3,000 - $4,300 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“Puppies all get first vaccines, dewormed regularly, well puppy health veterinary check, leash and collar, AKC ReUnite microchip & registration, AKC/UKC Registrations, health record and guarantee. $500 for waitlist and $500 deposit when individual puppy is picked from litter. All deposits go toward puppy price. Balance due upon pick up or prior to delivery.”

Kristine may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase.   • Hip Dysplasia

    Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.

  • Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)

    Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.

  • DNA Profile, PRA, Cone-Rod Dystrophy 2 (PRA-crd2), Degenerative Myelopathy (DM; SOD1A)

    Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
