M B.

Breeder of Shetland Sheepdogs

Meet the breeder

I'm M B., the breeder behind Belknap Shelties located in Christiansburg, VA. I produce pups that will continue to excel in their chosen field, whether that be working, showing, or as a loving companion. I breed to the standard with a focus on temperament and improving the breed. My priority is to ensure the health and well-being of all my dogs from birth until they leave with their forever family and beyond.

Q. & A. with M

  • Why did you start breeding?

A consistent love for the Shelite breed encouraged the beginning of Belknap Shelties. It is an honor to represent this breed and create opportunities for others to experience the same joy that I've found in raising these wonderful dogs.
  • What makes your program special?

I do everything I can to ensure my puppies have what they need to develop into healthy and happy dogs. I am very conscious about who I rehome my puppies to and always ensure that each one goes to the best home possible complementary to its personality and ability. I have high expectations for our puppies and strive to place each one in an enriching and loving home.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies are sable and white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
