Meet the breeder

I'm Joan B., the breeder behind Belle Fleur Collies located in La Veta, CO. I have owned Collies and Collie breeds for over 50 years. Have shown in AKC conformation and obedience events. My puppies are out of International and Canadian Grand Champion lines. My primary concern is health, personality, and providing a wonderful addition to the owner’s home.

Q. & A. with Joan

  • Why did you start breeding?

I began showing and training Collies in Conformation and Obedience as well as being a member of an AKC Collie Obedience club over 50 years ago. Breeding healthy, beautiful, personality plus puppies has always been my priority. I have bred a few litters over the years. Raising and training healthy and happy puppies is a full time endeavor for a responsible breeder.
  • What makes your program special?

My puppies are raised underfoot. Never kenneled, highly socialized from birth, given individual attention and love, and provided excellent veterinary care. Parents have excellent pedigrees, are genetically screened, and come from breeders who have a history of producing healthy show quality Collies. My goal is to provide healthy, beautiful, personality plus family pets and companions.
  • What are the different breed coat types in your program?

Our puppies have rough coats. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include sable and white, blue merle white and tan, black white and tan, and sable merle and white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
