Meet the breeder

I'm Erica B., the breeder behind Berkstone Labradors located in Harrisburg, PA. Our focus is breeding English Labradors that are exceptional examples of the breed. Our puppies come from AKC Champion and Grand Champion bloodlines with extensive health testing and generations of genetic clearances behind them. We carefully select our breeding dogs to preserve the best traits of the breed while producing healthy, confident, well-balanced puppies with excellent temperaments and classic English Lab features.

Q. & A. with Erica

  • Why did you start breeding?

At 8 years old, I had the amazing opportunity to watch our Labrador, Belle, give birth to her first litter, and I was instantly hooked! Our journey into breeding grew from that early love for the breed, years of research, and a desire to share that experience with my kids and others. Our dam, Lily Girl, deepened that passion with her sweet temperament, affectionate nature, and beautiful English Lab features, further inspiring our commitment to raising healthy, well-socialized puppies with excellent temperaments.
  • What makes your program special?

We are not a kennel! Our puppies are raised in the heart of our home, receiving daily love, attention, and care. They are kid-tested, well-socialized, and exposed to the sights, sounds, and routines of family life. Through intentional exposure to a variety of experiences, we help build confidence and adaptability. Daily interaction allows us to get to know each puppy’s unique personality, strengths, and developmental needs, enabling us to provide enrichment tailored to each puppy. Our goal is to raise healthy, well-adjusted puppies that will thrive as lifelong family companions, and we are committed to placing them in loving, responsible homes.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies are yellow. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

We honestly couldn’t have asked for a better experience with Erica. From the first time we reached out, she was so kind, patient, and always willing to answer our questions. She kept us updated with pictures and videos as Stetson grew, which made the wait so much more exciting. The day we picked him up, it was obvious how much love and care Erica puts into raising her puppies. Stetson is happy, confident, affectionate, and has such a sweet personality. He’s adjusted so well already, and we can tell he had the best start in life. The biggest compliment we can give is that my mother-in-law fell in love with the litter too and ended up bringing home Stetson’s sister! Watching them both settle into their new homes has been so special, and it’s clear they were both raised with so much care. If you’re looking for a breeder who truly loves her dogs and wants the best for every puppy, we can’t recommend Erica enough. We’re so grateful for our boy, and we know he’ll be a part of our family for many, many years. Thank you, Erica, for everything—you’ve made this such a wonderful experience!
