I'm Diana L., the breeder behind Betsy's Dachshunds located in Alexandria, VA. Having a dog in our lives is such a blessing. We find so much fulfillment in providing that same companionship to other homes! Our goal is to share loving puppies with loving families and, so far, we have accomplished that goal. Our breeding pair has produced the cutest, most beautiful pups around.

  • Why did you start breeding?

    One of my first loves was my dog, Wendy, a liver and white Springer Spaniel. I remember how Wendy had several litters of puppies and she let me cuddle with her and her babies. I fell in love with miniature dachshunds when I held my own first dog, Gretchen, who was 8 weeks old. Since then, I wanted to share the joy of owning one of these loyal, loving puppies with people who love them in return.

  • What makes your program special?

    We only have one breeding pair, who are our home pets. I own the dame, Tigger, a blue dapple, and my son owns the sire, Julio, a black and tan. When the pups are born, they interact with our other miniature dachshunds, so they are socialized with humans and canines before going to their adopted families.

  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

    Our puppies are miniature size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • What are the different breed coat types in your program?

    Our puppies have longhaired coats. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Price

Puppy prices include a $500 non-refundable deposit and between $1,600 - $2,700 final payment, before taxes & fees.

Diana may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase.
