Meet the breeder

I'm Kirsty C., the breeder behind Big Sky Frenchies located in Keeseville, NY. My pups are bred with a focus on health, via OFA and DNA testing of parents, and temperament, by not breeding poorly tempered parents and starting ENS at day 3.

Q. & A. with Kirsty

  • Why did you start breeding?

My first Frenchie was a rescue riddled with congenital defects that caused him immense pain resulting in crankiness and aggression. Specialty surgeries and follow up care didn’t help as much as one would hope. That inspired my passion for breeding the healthiest Frenchies possible in the hopes that others wouldn’t have to experience the stress and heartbreak I went through.
  • What makes your program special?

I researched for years before committing to breeding. I wanted to make sure that I was not undertaking it lightly and that I would be knowledgeable enough and financially prepared to breed responsibly or not at all. I am committed to breeding the healthiest, happiest, most beautiful Frenchies I can.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Kristy was wound full to work. I had just lost my first frenchie and me and my husband had been looking for a new companion and found three spot now called Trio. My husband and I are so happy. Kristy thank you again he is so sweet 😋 💗

We had such a seamless experience with Kirsty. We are on the East coast and the thought of finding our new family member in Montana was daunting, but Kirsty sent photos and updates daily - checking in with us and getting us ready to welcome Teddy home! Her communication and positive demeanor is evident in her previous reviews - we’ve already been recommending her to our friends!

From my first conversation with Kirsty, I knew that we had found the right breeder for our dream frenchie! She was so kind, patient, knowledgeable and clearly only wants the best for her pups. She answered all of my questions, sent me the sweetest pics and videos of little Kiki as she was growing - she made the entire experience so much better!

Working with Kristy to find our new guy was fun and easy. We were able to express our needs and desires as well as concerns and she was super attentive and re assuring. Our sweet pup (Murphy) is a dream and is wiggling his way into everyone’s hearts. Knowing we have such a great breeder gives us such peace of mind and gives Murphy a much better chance at a happy and healthy life.

It was so great to meet Kirsty and to have the pleasure of George joining our family. Every interaction with Kirsty has been positive. We communicated through the Good Dog app and then also FaceTimed and continued to communicate both through the app and via text where she sent lots of photos of George and kept in touch as her travel day approached when George would be delivered to us. All payments were made through the Good Dog app, which made me feel comfortable and helped to ensure that everything would go smoothly. Kirsty arrived with George and a basket of puppy items, including his current food, vet records in a folder, a small blanket and a few toys and bones. He also arrived with a harness and leash. Kirsty initially was scheduled to fly into California to deliver George, but the flight was canceled due to weather. She then drove all the way from Montana to San Diego to bring the dog on the same day she was scheduled to fly in. I greatly appreciate her ability to pivot and to bring Georgie to us! George has been with us for a few days now and he has integrated well into the family. Our four-year-old French bulldog mix has really enjoyed having a buddy, and George has done great in his kennel for the last several nights. It’s been a pretty seamless introduction, and at least a part of that speaks to the personality of George. He is running around with our other dog, finding his way through the house and the yard, and gaining confidence. We plan to keep in touch with Kirsty and will definitely send pictures of George as he grows!

Looking for a Frenchie for my partner, I was thinking of a puppy. When Kirsty suggested a year old that needed re-homing might be something to consider, I was hesitant. After meeting Wrexham, he immediately went to my partner Brent. They are a perfect fit! I appreciated Kirsty listening, getting to know our needs (even before we did). He is an absolute JOY! Thank you for completing our little family!
