Q. & A. with Samary
Why did you start breeding?
At age five, my father introduced me to animal husbandry. The Kennel Birkline started as Shamrocks twenty years ago. Through three generations and three decades, we've striven to purify and protect each pure breed, using genetic testing, temperament, exceptional health care, and unrivaled in-home litter raising. We're a small kennel, so we don't always have pups, but they're worth the wait.
What makes your program special?
Our dogs are pets first. All our dogs, even our puppies, are welcomed inside our well-socialized home. They play with our kids and cats, chase the chickens, etc. Each one is a family member and receives only the best. Our foundation stock is never asked to be parents before they are physically and emotionally mature. When they retire, they spend the rest of their lives as beloved pets in our home, just as they started.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include black and rust, blue and rust, fawn (isabella) and rust, and red and rust. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home and a kennel on my property.
