Meet the breeder

I'm Daniela P., the breeder behind Black Lions Newfoundlands located in Marysville, WA. Our puppies are bred for health and their sweet temperament, resembling their parents in looks and character. Excellent European/FCI/Intnl. pedigrees. They will go to approved homes, based on an application system, 10-12+ wks, heart clearances by a board certified cardiologist, health certificate.

Q. & A. with Daniela

  • Why did you start breeding?

My dream of having a Newfie came true once I purchased a beautiful home with a fairy tale backyard. In 2020 I welcomed Zor - The Black Lion, (the "Magical Creature", how someone once called him) to our house. I will always be in love with this boy…and this breed, the sweet temperament, dignity, playfulness. To me, Zor is not only a Newfoundland…he is a God…a true, majestic Newfoundland God!...
  • What makes your program special?

My Newfies were selected from renowned European and Intnl. breeders. All of them are imports from multi-Champion lines, and sought-after Intnl. kennels: King of Helluland, Kazko Slupski, Nandobears. AKC Registered and OFA CHIC. Our breeding program follows the best qualities in health and temperament outcomes. Members of the NCS, NCA. Showing, won rewards, and working towards championships.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include white and black and black. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
