I'm Kathleen H., the breeder behind Blackbird Labradors located in Marana, AZ. Dedicated to following a responsible breeding program, our focus is on keeping our animals healthy and happy for their new homes. We truly believe dogs improve quality of life -- hunting dogs, service dogs, and family pets. They welcome us home after a long day, bark when they hear a noise outside, and even a wagging tail when you look their way, they make each day better. We work to continue the quality of the Labrador breed.
Q. & A. with Kathleen
Why did you start breeding?
We were inspired by the family who raised our Daisy girl. We work to improve the quality of the breed and help each of the puppies to have the strong foundation they need. It has been such a fulfilling journey, and we are so proud of what we have accomplished so far.
What makes your program special?
By the time the puppy is ready to go home, they have been introduced to a long list of experiences. We take them out in safe public places. We get them started on crate training, introduced to the doggy door, and raised with children. They spend a majority of their time inside but also experience outdoors in our yard. Each puppy is loved and matched with a family based on personality and needs.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include black, chocolate, and yellow. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
