I'm Kathy M., the breeder behind Blackjack located in Lone Tree, CO.
Q. & A. with Kathy
Why did you start breeding?
If you have a show dog that is worthy of having a beautiful well tempered litter then put in the time and expense to do this. I'll only breed with the intention of keeping a puppy, it's so much work. I've only had 7 litters over the time I've had dogs starting with Shadow in 1998.
What makes your program special?
I have good lines and strong pedigrees behind my male, I spare no expense on providing the proper health clearances and interview the new puppy families extensively and meet them prior to them being selected. I also go visit the puppies in their new home about a month after if I can. I'm not that much different than any other ethical breeder.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies are black. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
