I'm Jessica P., the breeder behind BlackPine Kennels located in Jackson, TN. DNA and genetic tested we try our very best to make sure we put the very best quality in our puppies and our parent dogs.They are a major part of my family and I just love to share them with everyone.One of my majors goals is to start a show career with my weenies and see how far we can go!

  • Why did you start breeding?

    I got in dachshunds a long time ago when my mother owned them from a great breeder here in Tennessee. I have a great mentor and I have a great support group of breeders and friends that we all get together and conversate on how to make the breed better and how to help our programs.

  • What makes your program special?

    My breeding program focuses on everyday, functional dogs that live as true working partners. Our dogs don’t just sit in a yard or on a sofa; they work, they hunt, they train, and then they come home and sleep at our feet. We prioritize sound temperament, work ethic, and versatility, so our dogs can do the jobs they were bred for while still fitting into real family life.

  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

    Our puppies are miniature size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • What are the different breed coat types in your program?

    Our puppies include smooth and longhaired coat varieties. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our puppies include piebald, cream, chocolate, fawn (isabella), fawn (isabella) and cream, gray (blue) and tan, chocolate and cream, chocolate and tan, blue and tan, black and tan, and dapple. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

    Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
