I'm Michelle D., the breeder behind Blucollar Chesapeakes located in Amsterdam, NY. Currently, we do not have any puppies available or litters planned until 2023. Blucollar Chesapeakes is a small, hobby kennel. Raising the next member of your family is not a responsibility we take lightly. Our goal is to breed quality Chesapeake Bay Retrievers that are sound in temperament and free from genetic diseases, while possessing strong natural hunting and retrieving instincts along with an independent, yet trainable, personality.

Why did you start breeding?
Because this is our hobby and not a business, we both also work outside of the home to help pay for this expensive hobby! This leaves limited time to properly raise litters of puppies, so we generally only have a litter every few years.What makes your program special?
In the 20 years that we've owned Chesapeakes, we've only had five litters. The utmost care and research are invested in finding the best possible stud dog to compliment our female. This includes healthy genetics, working ability, and good looks. All components are needed to produce excellent puppies.Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
