Q. & A. with Kaylee
Why did you start breeding?
My journey into breeding Boykin Spaniels began with my passion for hunting. As an avid hunter, I was drawn to a dog that embodied both enthusiasm and versatility in the field. Over time, my love for the breed grew beyond their hunting capabilities. This admiration inspired me to go into breeding, driven by a desire to preserve and promote the unique traits that make Boykin Spaniels so special.
What makes your program special?
Blue Creek Boykins stands out for its dedication to health, temperament, and breed standards. We prioritize genetic health testing, responsible breeding practices, and early socialization to produce well-rounded, trainable Boykin Spaniels. Our dogs excel in both family environments and field settings, showcasing versatility and loyalty. Passion-driven care ensures every pup thrives.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include chocolate and liver. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Cardiac Evaluation (rDVM, not registered with OFA)
Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.
Patellar Luxation
Knee testing reduces the chance of passing down Patellar Luxation, which results in the kneecap becoming displaced or dislocated and can cause mild to severe joint pain.
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
