I'm Claire D., the breeder behind Bluebonnet Kennels located in Peyton, CO. We are a small, family-run breeding program focusing on quality care and good health. Our dogs are our pets, they are loved and cared for like family. Every puppy we raise is treated as part of our family from birth. Our puppies are the perfect loving and loyal companions to add to your family!
Q. & A. with Claire
Why did you start breeding?
We love our beagles and want to share that love with other families. We are passionate about maintaining and possibly improving the beagle breed. We also breed to meet the ongoing demand the public has for beautiful, well-bred, carefully raised beagles, especially in Colorado where beagles are pretty rare. Finally, we want to give our girls the beautiful opportunity to mother a litter of puppies.
What makes your program special?
Our dogs and puppies are truly members of our family and treated as such. Welping and newborn care takes place in our master bath, a sterile environment where we can observe and assist at any moment. Puppies are raised in our home, spending lots of time running around our fenced yard and dog kennel/run. They learn to play nicely with our other dogs, our cats, and our young son.
What are the different breed sizes in your program?
Our Beagle puppies include 13-inch and 15-inch sizes. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our Beagle puppies include blue tan and white, black white and tan, black tan and redtick, black tan and white, black red and white, and black tan and bluetick. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
