I'm Angela R., the breeder behind Bluegrass Dachshunds located in Kentucky. We raise quality, healthy puppies with phenomenal temperaments! I am continually learning all I can about Dachshunds & I'm committed to improving the quality of the breed. My Dachshunds are bred with health, temperament, and conformation as a priority. Our dachshunds live in our home and are familiar with the sights and sounds of our daily living.

  • Why did you start breeding?

    My love for the dachshund breed started on Mother's Day 2008. Hubby surprised me with my first longhaired red Dachshund. Phoebe was definitely unlike any other dog I had ever owned! She was truly devoted, loyal, and obedient. I enjoyed her sweet quirkiness that I had not experienced before owning a dachshund. Phoebe was inquisitive, headstrong, and stubborn...and I adored everything about her! That love has grown into a passion that fulfills each day!

  • What makes your program special?

    I have come to know many special people through my love of Dachshunds. We have numerous families that return to us for a second or even 3rd Dachshund. It's nice that owners and prospective owners recognize the look of my dogs and puppies on social media etc. We couldn't be happier with the bonds we've built with our dachshund families.

    They live in my home.
