I'm Maryellen T., the breeder behind Bluegrass Shih Tzus located in Grayson, KY. I’m a small-scale breeder of adorable Shih Tzu puppies and recently added shihpoo puppies also. I love what I do and try to produce the best puppies for my buyers. My dogs are members of my family, and I give each dog and puppy all the attention and care to be the best family pets.

Why did you start breeding?
Well kinda by accident, lol. Some of my family loved our dogs and said if we bred them, they wanted a puppy because they loved how sweet and lovable they are. We decided to breed them and we had 2 puppies. After that word of mouth started, and I had more people say they loved our babies and so more people wanted them. This is how it all started. Everyone should have fur babies like this.What makes your program special?
My puppies get lots of love and family interaction. This isn’t a job, and I don’t do it for money. This is a labor of love for this sweet breed that has so much to give.What are the different breed sizes in your program?
Shihpoo puppies are mini size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our Shih Tzu puppies include gold and black gold and white. Shihpoo puppies include merle and black and white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

Price
Puppy prices include a $250 non-refundable deposit and between $150 - $1,250 final payment, before taxes & fees.
“Puppies come with puppy packs and worming and first set of vaccines. Vaccines and worming is done through my veterinarian. Deposit is not refundable but comes off the total due.”

Maryellen may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase.
