I'm Nikole T., the breeder behind Bluegum Dachshunds located in Herald, CA. I raise my litters in my home with our family and kids of all ages to help set the foundation for happy and confident puppies. Because of it they transition with their new families/homes better. It’s a privilege to have the opportunity to raise happy future family members for you. As ours are to us!

  • Why did you start breeding?

    My first dachshund Squeek started it. Now all of my girls are decendents of hers. I love seeing a piece of her out in the world making families as happy as she did for us.

  • What makes your program special?

    We only raise piebalds and we breed for ticking. Since squeek was a completely ticked red pie. She was just so beautiful she ruined us for any others 😄. While we have lots of colors pies are it for us!!.

  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

    Our puppies are miniature size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • What are the different breed coat types in your program?

    Our puppies include longhaired and smooth coat varieties. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our puppies include red, black and tan, chocolate and tan, fawn (isabella) and tan, and blue and tan. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Nikole

Nikole has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.

After buyers complete the application and screening process, Nikole partners with them to find the best puppy match.

“I allow buyers to pick. I definetly give any info on the pup and temperament. But Ive never had a person make the wrong choice. They are so easily moldable. I dont feel like you can make a wrong choice. ”

Price

Puppy prices include a $800 deposit and between $1,200 - $2,700 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“Price includes akc registration unless stated otherwise, vet checked before they leave age, appropriate shots, worming flea and tick preventative & puppy starter pack. I refund if you can not take the puppy. Im not about to keep peoples hard earned money. But only once the puppy has been re sold.”

    We had a great experience working with Nikole and Bluegum Dachshunds! After we picked our pup, we were sent pictures and videos of him growing up until he was ready to come home. Our pup Bert (Hudson) has been home a week and has barely had any accidents, has been great with crate training, and is so sweet and social. We also have cats, and appreciate that he grew up socializing with cats and knows how to interact with them. Overall we are so happy with our pup!

    We had a great experience finding our little girl. We haven’t owned a Dachshund before and had lots of questions, which were all answered. We got weekly updates with videos and pictures. Our little Esmé is super playful, smart, picking up quickly, and great with our son. We got a little care package at pick-up, which was helpful!     Nikole was such a pleasure to work with, having never worked with a breeder before, she made sure we understood the process, and was so helpful with all of our many many questions. We got tons of pictures and videos while we waited for our little friend Tank (now Harvey) to be ready to come home. He’s just an angel, so sweet and well behaved. He also was so adaptable and settled right into his crate, as well as his grass potty pads. A big bonus for us was that Nikole has cats, so he has known how to react to our cats and respected their boundaries. Harvey is a great addition and we are so happy to have found Nikole! We can tell he was raised with such love and care in her home.
