Q. & A. with Amanda

  • Why did you start breeding?

As a little girl, Amanda was obsessed and interested in all animals; breeding hamsters, gerbils, having a collection of toads, snakes, reptiles, cats, got her first horse at 9 years, all while living in an apartment in the city. Amanda started bringing home stray dogs, and even bought one from the newspaper for $25 when she was about 10 yrs old, without her parents knowing. Amanda got her first Dachshund in 2004 once in a house, and knew she wanted to show dogs since she grew up showing horses, and it was "in her blood".
  • What makes your program special?

We are an AKC Breeder of Merit Bronze who has produced Absolute Field winners, Multiple Dual Champions, many other Grand Champions, titles in Performance and Companion Events, National ranking and National placing dogs. Blueprint K9 is dedicated to breeding happy healthy beautiful Dachshunds that can do it all. Our dogs make excellent family companions, and we will assist you in choosing the right puppy for your family.
  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

Our puppies are miniature size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat types in your program?

Our puppies have smooth coats. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include piebald, red, chocolate and tan, black and tan, and dapple. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

We were very pleased with our experience in getting our new puppy, Rio. Amanda was in contact with us from day one. She had a puppy available and was coming to a town near us, so was practically hand delivered. Amanda gave us alot of needed info and answered all our questions and concerns we had. She also contacts us often to see how we are doing and if we have any questions. Rio is healthy and happy and we already love her. Dawn and Gary K.

Amanda, We are extremely happy to have Ginger as the newest member of our family and equally pleased with the service and guidance you provided us. Transition into our home was very easy because Ginger was fully trained to a potty pad already. As you suggested, we are using her kibble as treats for training . The result of that practice is that now, if she is hungry between feedings, she will come and sit in front of us knowing that is a reason she gets food. Our daughter and granddaughter compete for play time and cuddle time with Ginger so we have the added bonus of more visits from them. Thank you for providing us with a high-quality, beautiful dachshund with an excellent disposition.

My kids and I wanted to surprise my Mom (Nana) with a dachshund for her 80th birthday. Nana has had dachshunds in her life almost her entire lifetime. Amanda was great in recommending a beautiful red haired dachshund with a wonderful calm demeanor. We gave Nana the dog on her birthday and she was overwhelmingly surprised and has been over the moon since. She has named her Duchess which is the name of her first dachshund her family had as a little girl growing up in western Kansas. Duchess has had a steady supply of visitors and has put smiles on all their faces. She is a bundle of joy. Amanda has followed up and showed genuine care for our family and Duchess. Thank you Amanda!

After looking for a smooth coat red mini doxie I came across a few breeders In Illinois where I live . Everywhere I read it mentioned to build a relationship with your breeder . It felt difficult with the breeders that I came in contact with until I came in contact with Blueprint k-9 in Missouri . Amanda the breeder was very knowledgeable , friendly, as accessible and as excited as i was to see her puppy go to a good home . Information about my puppy came with out asking bloodline health temperament etc. Amanda posts live all the time with pictures/viedoed of her little puppies that you might adopt in action not just pictures VERY TRANSPARENT. Well we drove done to Missouri to bring home our new pupp. I must say the puppies was extremely clean and well groomed as well as adjusted. The price was perfect . Believe me when I say the information ,and gift bag that was sent home with my puppy was unbelievable. Believe when I say this we are thinking about getting another puppy it sure shows that Amanda B. Is not in this for money but the love for these doxie. If your in doubt check her out . One very happy doxie mom !!!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Exceptional Breeder & Beautiful, Happy Pups! Finding a reputable breeder can be an overwhelming process, but working with Amanda at Blueprint K9 was an absolute dream from start to finish. If you are looking for a healthy, well-socialized, and gorgeous dachshund, look no further! From our very first conversation, it was clear that Amanda isn’t just a breeder, she is a passionate advocate for the breed. Amanda prioritizes health, temperament, and adherence to breed standards above all else. Communication was outstanding throughout the entire process. We received photos, and videos which made the anticipation so much fun. Amanda took the time to answer all of our endless questions, offering invaluable advice on dachshund-specific care. We brought Little Basil home and we are completely in love. It’s obvious how much love and socialization they received in their first few weeks of life. Our pup is brave, incredibly affectionate, wonderfully socialized with people and other animals. Going through Amanda was the best decision we could have made. They don't just send you home with a puppy; they welcome you into a community and offer lifetime support for your dog. If you want a dachshund that is sound in both mind and body from someone who truly loves the breed, I cannot recommend Amanda and Blueprint K9 highly enough. Thank you for bringing so much joy into our lives! 🐾❤️

Me and my husband have been wanting to get a dachshund for some time, and we’ve been following Amanda’s breeding program for about two years. When it was finally time to choose a puppy, we knew we wanted to talk to her. We chose Amanda because we wanted someone that was passionate about the breed, was ethical, and knowledgeable, and she did not disappoint! On our conversations she was always quick to respond, polite and helpful. She matched us with the perfect puppy, and supported us getting prepared for bringing her home. We had a very positive experience, and are very proud to be able to support an ethical breeder like Amanda!
