Meet the breeder

I'm Jennifer C., the breeder behind Bluewater Border Collies located in Westport, CT. I take pride in breeding top-quality Border Collies and I strive for perfection in confirmation, temperament, and health. I strive to improve the line with each generation by seeking out complementary traits in compatible puppy parents. I work hard and I take great pride in my breeding program.

Q. & A. with Jennifer

  • Why did you start breeding?

I fell in love with a border collie named Indy I witnessed in Central Park -- he was amazing. I grew up with Shelties which have some similarities. Border collies are so smart, intuitive, compassionate and athletic in a fairly compact body - and just simply gorgeous creatures. I am passionate about the breed, especially breeding for grounded personality that can wind up but also wind down.
  • What makes your program special?

I imported Zaira from top breeder Clan Abby in NZ when she was 8 weeks old. I later bred her to GCHP Majestic Elite Clever Endeavor PT, one of the border collie show dogs of all time. I have to bitches from that litter. Beautiful dogs with beautiful temperaments.
  • What are the different breed coat types in your program?

Our puppies have rough coats. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include blue merle, blue, and red. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
