I'm Dominique L., the breeder behind Boodaboo Shih Tzu’s located in California. All of our puppies are bred, raised, and loved indoors to produce happy, healthy pets for those seeking the best family companion! The sweet, loyal, and playful disposition of our dogs inspired us to begin responsibly breeding to expand the breed and share them with others.

  • Why did you start breeding?

    Our gorgeous pup Minnie has had the best temperament and was the most beautiful dog we have had. Once we had her we became part of many shih tzu groups and learned everything we could about the breed. After time and consideration we decided to breed so that we could help create wonderful companions and share the love we have for the Shih Tzu’s.

  • What makes your program special?

    We are not a kennel, we only breed quality pups. Our pups are health tested and the parents are carefully vetted before breeding. We give time, attention, and training to all puppies and ensure they go home with everything needed for a successful transition to their new homes.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Dominique

Puppy prices include a $500 refundable deposit and between $2,000 - $3,400 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“This price includes papers, pedigree, carrier, blanket, food, toys and health guarantee. All of our pups are current on their vaccinations and have a vet check before going home. Our puppies are socialized and pad trained. Deposit to hold before 8 weeks is refundable. Deposit to hold after 8 weeks is non-refundable.”

  • Hip Dysplasia (rDVM, not registered)

    Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.

  • Elbow Dysplasia (rDVM, not registered)

    Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.

  • Eye Examination (rDVM, not registered with OFA)

    Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.

  • Cardiac Evaluation (rDVM, not registered with OFA)

    Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.

  • Patellar Luxation

    Knee testing reduces the chance of passing down Patellar Luxation, which results in the kneecap becoming displaced or dislocated and can cause mild to severe joint pain.

    My experience with Dominique was by far the best I’ve ever had with a breeder. Quick to respond, had answers to all of my questions and even made time to FaceTime & introduce me to Pesto to make sure it was the right fit for us both. She truly loves and cares for each of her puppies and it shows! Pesto my sweet puppy, is the PERFECT boy. He is just radiating with love, kisses, snuggles, and is so well mannered. He came potty trained with potty pads, and Dominique even gave us a few gifts to bring home to make sure it was a comfortable drive and transition. She sent me a few links to items she used and recommends (play pen, water bowls, puppy shampoo etc) and it really helped me prepare for him prior to our pick up. If you’re on the fence, I HIGHLY recommend to just reach out with any questions you have, Dominique is amazing and her puppies are full of love. Pesto, has been an absolute blessing, and has filled my heart with SO much love. He was the missing piece I’ve been looking for for so long & I am so thankful to Dominique for helping me find him 🤍

    I had a wonderful adoption experience, Dominque was responsive when I reached out about adopting Paddington and answered all my questions & FaceTime with me so I could see him. Dominque met me at the airport and had all of Paddington’s information, blankets, toys, some food and vitamins to take with me. Paddington was potty trained & healthy and was well taken care of and socialized. Dominique obviously loves her puppies and they are part of the family.
