I'm Alana D., the breeder behind Border Creek's Australian Shepherds located in Derby, VT. We are lifelong dog enthusiasts, and we’re excited to share our passion and purpose with others through our breeding program. Each of our dogs has brought so much happiness to us throughout their lives. We want to do our part to produce wonderful, healthy dogs that can bring other people joy as well, and we strive to provide each of our puppies with loving homes where they can live happy lives. What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include black, red merle, blue merle, and red tri-color. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.Where do your breeding dogs live?

Getting a puppy from Alana
Alana has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready to reach out, feel free to ask any questions about the breed, their program, or specific puppies.
Together, you’ll choose the puppy that’s right for you, stay in touch with regular updates, and plan how to bring your new puppy home.
Price
Puppy prices include a $300 non-refundable deposit and between $900 - $1,900 final payment, before taxes & fees.
“Base price includes limited registration, head start on potty training and crate training, socialization and desensitization to brushing, bathing, handling, small children, cats, chickens and household noises. A small bag of food, vet and vaccine records, a blanket that smells like mom, and a few toys are included. Deposits are taken once puppies are born and first picks go in order of deposits received. Deposits are non refundable but can be transferred to a future litter.”
Contract & health guarantee
Alana may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase. Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Multiple Drug Sensitivity (MDR1), Degenerative Myelopathy (DM; SOD1A), Animal Genetics Panel
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).

Alana has really brought my dream dog to me. She helped me through the whole process of getting him to me. Very understanding and prompt with answers. I was hesitant on buying a dog online as shopping online for clothes vs a family member is really different. She answered all my questions and would probably answer my questions now if I ever had any! Alana at Border Creek’s Australian Shephards did an amazing job working with us every step of the way when we picked our baby Koda. She sent us weekly updates of him with pictures, and also allowed visitors after 4 weeks. We went up when the puppies were around 6 weeks old and had so much fun meeting our puppy and all the others!
