I'm Joanna S., the breeder behind Boujee Tzus located in Santa Barbara, CA. We love to responsibly raise and train Shih Tzus so they have the tools to be well-rounded, beloved family members. We commit ourselves towards preparing each one of our puppies to thrive in their new homes, and we enjoy working with their new families so that they can raise their beloved companions with confidence!

Our family has wanted a dog for years and could not agree on how or when. As first time owners, we couldn’t agree on anything. How would a dog affect our lifestyle? What breed/size would work best? I knew I had to be the one to just do it. The moment I saw Ares on Boujee Tzus’ page, I knew he was the one! I loved that Joanna’s 12 year old daughter, who was studying Greek Mythology, named the puppies. Being a small breed, his name was perfectly ironic! Who could passed on a mini dog/God of War and Destruction”? I was away for work in NC for six weeks and without their distractions wanted to surprise my family when I got home. Joanna was so accommodating. She not only kept Ares for three additional weeks until I returned and could surprise my daughter for her 12th birthday, but met us half way for pick up! Turned out to be the best way to make up for the first missed birthday ever! I knew my daughter would be overjoyed, but I never expected my husband to fall so hard for him. He thinks I chose the perfect dog for our family!😎 We’ve been inseparable ever since! We absolutely love him, his name, his temperament and how well trained he was from day one. He knew to go wee and poo on the wee-wee pad the moment he landed in our home. And sleeps in the bed Joanna gifted us every night! 😅 What a relief!!! We take him everywhere with us. Joanna at Boujee Tzus has made us a very happy doggie. We love our little fur boy. He makes us very happy!❤️
