Meet the breeder

I'm Lynn H., the breeder behind Bountiful Dachshunds located in Warrior, AL. Our pups and dogs are a part of our family and I have high expectations for my pups and strive to pair each one with a loving family. My constant goal is raising top-quality puppies with excellent health, disposition, and good conformation. They are ready for their homes when we feel they are ready .

Q. & A. with Lynn

  • Why did you start breeding?

I came into breeding over time. After owning and working with animals my whole life, raising our four kids, and teaching them to respect and care for these wonderful creatures, it evolved. I started breeding in 1996 (only a few times until 1998 as we were having babies of our own)but after studying the breed and being mentored some by some reputable breeders, I began breeding in 2005 till today. Our dachshunds (and all pups) are raised in our home with our family and are treated as family members.
  • What makes your program special?

I make it my goal to socialize our pups from day one, building their confidence with in home training introduction, acclimating to all kinds of people, sights, noises and smells. Crate introduction is begun at 7 weeks of age during the gradual weaning process from their mom. I put great care in matching the right prospective owner with the right dog and our pups are health checked before leaving our care. Each pup will come with AKC Registration papers (no breeding rights), eligibility for free pet insurance for 30 days by AKC, insuring a worry free transition. We also send home educational resources on puppy care, contract signing and a one year health guarantee against life threatening genetic defects.
  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

Our puppies include miniature and standard sizes. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat types in your program?

Our puppies include smooth and longhaired coat varieties. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include cream, red, black and tan, chocolate and cream, and black and cream. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
