Meet the breeder

I'm the breeder behind Bouquet Biewers located in Colorado. We're a caring in-home program with attention to health and the well-being and training/socialization of all our dogs involved. We are NOT a high volume breeder and always have a waitlist of at minimum 2-3 people. Our Biewer Terriers are our family members and live with us in our home. Our puppies are carefully hand-raised by us as well. We strive for quality and excellence with everything that we do. Holding ourselves to high standards is paramount to the well-being of our dogs and to the integrity of the Biewer Terrier breed and our program. We look forward to connecting with you! If you are seeking a show quality pup to breed/show with then these are my guidelines: -I prefer a show breeder with experience in toy breeds of 6+ years. -I recommend you join the parent breed club and know what health testing is required of the Biewer Terrier breed. -I will be co-owner with you on the pup until he/she is championed. -The dog you acquire from me will be fully health tested at the appropriate age and all health testing be listed on OFA.org with clear/normal results. -Depending on maturity of the male/female Biewer Terrier, they will NOT be bred until 18-24 months of age. -ANY male/female bred to the acquired Biewer MUST also be fully health tested and signed off on by me. -A show/breed contract will reflect all of the above and will need to be signed.

Q. & A. with Melissa

  • Why did you start breeding?

I fell in love with the Biewer Terrier four years ago, and had always been interested in breeding as I thought it would be so rewarding to preserve the integrity of the breed. Since then I have spent time educating myself, gathering mentors with 20+ years of experience in breeding, reading, engaging in seminars, health testing, researching pedigrees to select the best parents of our future litters, networking with other breeders, learning the show ring and so much more! It’s been such a fun and a rewarding journey thus far and I am looking forward to the future of our program! We are so excited for the pitter-patter of little puppy paws!
  • What makes your program special?

All of our litters will be raised in our comfortable, pet-conscious, and friendly home with plenty of hands on attention from all family members. Puppies and parents will see a veterinarian specialist in canine reproduction for their medical visits. All of our puppies will be health tested, microchipped, and socialized using the Puppy Culture program before going to their forever home. We also like to stay in close contact with new parents of our puppies so we can check in and see their growth over the years, this is very important to us as these are our children too! Our program also donates to shelters around the nation so each of our Biewer pups get to help a shelter pup with any needs they may have from a sizable donation through our program and this is something that we are very proud of and is very important to us! It is important for all applicants to note that I sell pet/companion pups only with limited AKC registration.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Melissa

Melissa has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready to reach out, feel free to ask any questions about the breed, their program, or specific puppies.

Together, you’ll choose the puppy that’s right for you, stay in touch with regular updates, and plan how to bring your new puppy home.

Price

Puppy prices include a $500 non-refundable deposit and between $3,300 - $3,500 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“Included with your puppy are the first 2 round of shots, the health guarantee, DNA tests, blood testing for liver issues. I also include a gift bag for the puppy transition to the new home including puppy pads, food that the puppy has been on, toys and a blanket with mom and littermates' scents. After the deposit is placed we send you weekly Pupdates so you can see your baby growing and blooming! We can FaceTime and Skype anytime while you are waiting for your baby to be old enough to be delivered to you. The deposit will not be taken until the puppy is 2 months old. It is refundable if health testing comes back unfavorable. Deposits are not refundable after 2 months of age. The decision to adopt a puppy must be taken seriously and with much thought. The deposit placed on a pup secures the pup and takes others off of the waiting list and moves them to the next waiting list for the next litter. If a buyer changes their mind we have to start the adoption process all over again, advertising and taking time to check out new applications and go over contracts which all takes time and expense. In our contract there is a strict rehoming clause stating that puppy must be rehomed back to Bouquet Biewers ONLY! This is to prevent the puppy being placed into unfavorable situations such as uneducated breeders, puppy mills or any other type of detrimental situation for the puppy. This contract is signed by both buyer and seller and is legal and binding. There are NO exceptions to this clause. Also in our contract there is a NO breeding clause. Bouquet Biewers sells pet/companion pups only. This clause is to protect the health and well being of the female/male and any puppies that would be produced as well as preserving the integrity of the breed.”

Contract & health guarantee

Melissa may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase. If Melissa offers a contract or guarantee, the details will be personalized by them. If you have any questions or want to know more, don’t hesitate to reach out to Melissa directly.
