Braidwood Corgis

Ellen O.

Breeder of Pembroke Welsh Corgis

Meet the breeder

I'm Ellen O., the breeder behind Braidwood Corgis located in Thompsonville, MI. I am passionate about the breed and focus on AKC breed standard and temperament. I take great pride in connecting the right family with the perfect puppy based on personality and lifestyle.

Q. & A. with Ellen

  • Why did you start breeding?

I began breeding after years of loving the breed. After I lost my cherished pet years ago I realized that it had become very difficult to find a healthy corgi true to standard. I felt it shouldn’t be so hard to connect families with this wonderful breed.
  • What makes your program special?

I use the best studs I can find to match with my four girl’s genetics, conformation, personalities and bloodline. While I do have puppies who have gone on to show I take great pride in connecting the right family with the perfect puppy based on personality and lifestyle. Additionally, the families who adopt from Braidwood have a tendency to stay in touch with me and each other, which is special.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include fawn, red, and sable. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
